In a crossover with The Doghouse, we share our mini-review of the new movie Five Feet Apart, which stars Haley Lu Richardson and Jughead himself, Cole Sprouse. We got access to a sneak preview and…well, let’s just say we’re glad we didn’t spend money on a full-price ticket. There’s some good acting, and competent direction and production, but the script is possibly the most contrived, hacky story you could make. It does a great job of educating the viewer about cystic fibrosis without being didactic, but it never earns its emotional payoff and constantly reminds the viewer that they’re being manipulated.. We wouldn’t say it’s bad - just figure out a way to see it without paying for a full-price ticket.
